Polaris Fashion Place Takes Action and Hosts Blood Drives During Nationwide Shortage

Polaris Fashion Place continues relationship with the American Red Cross in 2021

COLUMBUS, OH (January 26, 2021) – Polaris Fashion Place will continue their partnership with the American Red Cross to host multiple Blood Drives throughout 2021. January is National Blood Donors Month, and a critical time for the Red Cross as donations slow after the holiday season. Following a successful 2020 partnership that saw over 1,500 pints of blood collected and saving potentially up to 4,500 lives, Polaris Fashion Place and the American Red Cross will continue to grow both their partnership and the impact made in the local community.   

According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, and one blood donation can save up to three lives. As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues, blood drive cancellations have resulted in more than 85,000 fewer blood donations, causing a nationwide blood shortage.

“Polaris Fashion Place is proud to continue working with the America Red Cross, and its important mission as a community partner in Columbus,” said Tamra Bower, General Manager at Polaris Fashion Place. “Given the success of the Blood Drives in 2020 and the impact in our local community, we knew it was something we wanted to bring back to Polaris Fashion Place in 2021.”

Since 1881, the American Red Cross has remained committed to preventing and alleviating humans suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. To help incentivize the community to donate during this critical time, all donors in January will be entered into a raffle to win two tickets to Super Bowl LVI, taking place in 2022. Polaris Fashion Place remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In the continued need to address COVID-19, the town center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective until further notice.

 

These additions include the following guidelines:

•           Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people

•           Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover in accordance with state and local guidelines

•           Do not gather in groups

•           Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies

•           Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19
